Umpires Wanted!

Interested in umpiring youth baseball and earning extra money? The Monticello Baseball Association is looking for individuals age 12 and older to umpire Travel and Rec level youth baseball games.

Become a Youth Baseball Umpire

The Monticello Baseball Association is looking for anyone age 12 and older who is interested in umpiring youth baseball games.

There are also times when we cannot get an umpire scheduled. In those situations, we maintain a list of people willing to help fill in when needed.

Pay Information

Current pay is 65 dollars per game. Most game times are less than 2 hours.

Umpires can earn more by becoming MYAS Certified.

Non Certified Umpire for all ages

65 dollars per game

MYAS Certified Umpire for ages 9U to 12U

75 dollars per game

MYAS Certified Umpire for ages 13U to 15U

85 dollars per game

Equipment Bonus for 2026

Earn a 50 dollar equipment bonus after umpiring 5 Monticello home games.

Earn an additional 50 dollar bonus after your 10th Monticello home game.

Maximum of 100 dollars total bonus may be earned. Games must be Monticello home games to qualify.

The bonus is paid through Gail. Please contact her once you reach your game milestones.

Age Requirements

Age groups range from 9U through 15U.

Umpires must be at least 2 years older than the age group they are umpiring.

Example: To umpire 12U, you must be at least 14 years old.

MYAS Umpire Clinic in Monticello

MYAS Umpire Clinic will be hosted in Monticello at Little Mountain Elementary on April 11 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

Certification is not required to begin umpiring but is recommended.
