Drop in Baseball opportunity for ages 8U-11U

Hello baseball families,

In talking with other coaches and looking for ways to provide more opportunities in our baseball program, it has been determined that kids ages 8 to 11 improve by getting more reps.  We will be offering opportunities every Wednesday in the month of August and finishing September 1st.  We will gather at Xcel Fields from 6:00 to 8:00.  We will start with teaching the kids the varsity warmup, throwing routine, work on a few different skills, then roll into a longer coach pitch scrimmage. We are asking you to bring your kids and encourage other kids their age to come out and play baseball.  We want traveling, in-house, & non baseball kids to come out and have fun. They will need their own equipment, except baseballs.  Have your child bring water as well.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Ryan Nett, Jay Brisson, or myself.

Thank you,
Arin Van Culin

Umpires wanted!

The Monticello Baseball Association is looking for anyone age 14 and older who would be interested in umpiring for some of our youth baseball games. There are times when the MBA is not assigned an umpire. In those situations, we like to have a list of people interested in helping out the association and fill in for those games. If you or anyone you know are willing to help out, please email montibaseballassoc@gmail.com with the name, email address and age group(s) of the person interested in umpiring. Current pay is $60/game and they typically are less than 2 hours. Age groups range from 9U through 14U and the requirement is that the umpire be 2 years older than the age group umpiring. The association coordinates and pays these umpires, and generally these are games in our recreational league.

The MBA uses an umpire service to facilitate umpiring for our competitive leagues. If you, or someone you know, is interested in the opportunity to work as an umpire on a more consistent basis please click here to see the attached flyer from our current umpire coordinator GT Officials.

Thank you for supporting the Monticello Baseball Association.
