If your child would like the opportunity to be selected for a AAA traveling team, he/she would need to attend the tryouts. If this is not of interest to your child, we would ask that they still participate in the tryouts so that we can form evenly competitive teams for all other leagues. All tryout participants are eligible to be selected for the AAA traveling team for that individual's specific tryout age group.
AAA- Traveling team that will play about 30 games from April through mid-July including two tournaments. There is an additional $50 fee to cover the cost of the tournament entry, gate fees, umpires, etc. We will have a AAA team for every age group from 9U-14U. Players making this team will be asked for a time and travel commitment due to the limited roster spots. If a AAA team is offered for an age group and a player elects to tryout for another community's baseball program, he or she would no longer be eligible to participate in the Monticello Baseball Association for the upcoming year. Please see waiver requirements in FAQs below.
AA (Quad City)- Teams consisting of players that are not on the above mentioned team. We typically have four Monticello teams and will play in a league with teams in close vicinity to us. We will have teams from two combined age groups, 11U & 12U and 13U & 14U. The season starts in late May and will last through mid-July.
In-House- Monticello teams that will only play against teams within our league. We have eight to ten teams for each age group which will be for the 8U(coaches pitch) and a combined 9U & 10U(players pitch) group. The season starts in May and will last through mid-July
The Monticello Baseball Association(MBA) does not issue waivers to leave, enter or re-enter our program, so it would depend on the rule requirements of the other community's baseball association. It would be the player's responsibility to obtain an official waiver form that is signed by that community's baseball association President and present it to the MBA.
Our association will look at each waiver on an individual basis and the board members will vote to approve or deny the request. We will do this at our next scheduled board meeting only. Our meeting dates are usually the first or second Monday of each month and are listed on the website calendar.
Any waivers that have been signed by the MBA would require a release waiver from that player's previous team and a vote by the our board members as noted above.
The MBA participates in the Gopher State/MYAS organization and you can review their rules concerning this subject at MYAS.ORG.

Our organization will support individuals within our program with information, assistance, and the use of equipment. Even if you are not a current coach, but are interested in forming a team, we will assist you in what needs to be done to put together a team.
